Looking Into Hawaii Travel Packages
What should you look for when you look at Hawaii travel packages? Well you look for the best deal for one – what offers you the most for the price. And if you’re bound and determined to see a specific island, you’ll want to make sure your Hawaii travel package will include time on that island.
If you haven’t visited Hawaii before, you should stick to just one island because that is the best way to experience what Hawaii has to offer. There’s not a great deal between them, but if you island hop you might miss out a lot. Those who travel between islands know the state well, and know the best times to be on each island.
In order to give you a few clues to picking from Hawaii travel packages, we will go down a short list of the different islands.
Of course you have to start with the biggest island of them all, called ‘Hawaii’ and also known as the ‘Big Island’. The Big Island of Hawaii is one of the most geologically diverse islands to be found anywhere. In the winter, there is snow-capped Mauna Kea that rises above tropical rainforests and Kilauea, the world’s most active volcano. The Big Island’s Kona coast is world-renown for deep-sea fishing, the Kohala coast for sun, beaches and first-class resorts.
Next is Maui, which is nicknamed the ‘Valley Isle’. Here you can look at the Haleakala Crater, which is quite fascinating and makes for some fabulous pictures. The Lao valley is full of wonderful trees, and is just a very beautiful place to experience.
A smaller island that has just recently become more of a tourist attraction is the ‘Pineapple Isle’, or Lanai. With two resorts to choose from you can be assured a visit to here won’t be as crowded as the other islands.
If swimming and diving appeals to you, then the ‘Friendly Isle’ is for you. Its real name is Molokai, and it is relatively underdeveloped compared to the other Hawaiian islands. You should put this on your list of Hawaiian travel packages if you want a quiet peaceful vacation with lots of water to play in.
Probably the best known island is Oahu, known as ‘The Gathering Place’. This is where you will find the capital, Honolulu, and the well known Waikiki beach, Diamond Head and, of course, Pearl Harbor. To many people Oahu is synonymous with Hawaii, and this is where to go if you are a party animal. Most Hawaiian travel packages included this island on the itinerary.
Lastly, the island of Kauai. This is known as the “Garden Island” because it is such a beautiful island – people who vacation here never want to leave. Mark Twain came here and named Waimea Canyon the ‘Grand Canyon of the Pacific’. The Napali Coast boasts 1,000 foot cliffs dropping straight down to the ocean, and beaches offering the best sun and surf you will find anywhere. Superlatives are unnecessary because every word you could use would be true about this magnificent island. Were you to include only one in your Hawaiian vacation package, it must be this – but then we could say that about any of these beautiful Hawaiian islands.
